Provide strategic leadership, direction and executive oversight of Phoenix Support Centre’s mission, programmes and operational delivery, ensuring that all activity aligns with organisational objectives and measurable impact outcomes. Serve as the principal representative and spokesperson for the Centre, articulating its vision, advocating on its behalf and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. Lead the development and implementation of robust strategic and operational plans that support sustainable growth and service excellence. Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, nonprofit governance standards and funding agreements, safeguarding organisational integrity. Foster and champion a positive, ethical and inclusive organisational culture that reflects and upholds Mind Matters’ values across all areas of practice.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and GovernanceMr. Mandla Shongwe
Oversee the organisation’s financial management, budgeting and reporting processes in full accordance with nonprofit regulations and recognised standards, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability. Develop, implement and continuously strengthen effective financial systems and robust internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risk. Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, the Nonprofit Organisations Act and all other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements. Provide strategic support to Phoenix Support Centre on governance matters, policy adherence and organisational risk management. Prepare and present clear, accurate and timely financial reports to the Board and key stakeholders to inform decision-making. Liaise proactively with auditors, funders and regulatory bodies to maintain transparency and uphold accountability. Champion and embed sound ethical, financial and governance practices across the organisation.
Director of Operations
Mr. Thabo Ngcobo
Develop, implement and monitor operational strategies that are clearly aligned with Phoenix Support Centre’s mission, vision and strategic objectives, ensuring effective programme delivery and measurable impact. Provide direct supervision and leadership to staff, volunteers and project teams involved in Centre initiatives, fostering accountability, collaboration and high performance. Oversee budgeting, financial reporting and resource allocation in close collaboration with the CFO to ensure operational efficiency and responsible stewardship of funds. Ensure seamless logistics, effective communications and strong stakeholder coordination across both ongoing and future programmes. Build and sustain strategic partnerships with mental health professionals, partner organisations, schools and donors to strengthen service reach and organisational sustainability. Report directly to the CEO, providing comprehensive monthly operational and progress updates to support informed executive decision-making.
